MA Education

The MA Education (Comparative and International Perspectives) pathway offers a deep dive into understanding how education systems vary across different regions, cultures, and countries. This program allows students to explore key aspects such as the structures, processes, and policies that shape education globally.

Key highlights of the program include:

  1. Comparative Analysis: Students will examine the similarities and differences between education systems worldwide, understanding how various factors—such as culture, economy, and political structures—affect educational practices.

  2. Theory and Methodology: The pathway emphasizes the theoretical frameworks and research methodologies used in comparative and international education, providing a solid foundation in both epistemology (the theory of knowledge) and practical research techniques.

  3. Human Rights in Education: A significant focus is placed on how concepts of human rights can influence and shape educational policies and practices. This aspect encourages students to critically evaluate how rights-based approaches can be integrated into educational reform and policy development.

  4. Critical Debate: The program encourages participation in discussions about global education issues, enabling students to critically assess policies, practices, and trends from an international perspective.
